For IT and OT
Installed on your network. Read‑only to your sources.
enCompass360° is batch review software for manufacturing plants. It runs inside your plant network, today on a virtual machine on your own server that reviewers open by remote desktop, and reads the historians, alarm data and batch databases you already run to put one batch on one screen; on the reference deployment, batch investigations went from weeks to minutes. The batch review writes nothing back to them, and we supply a written description of each connection for your change control.
Every arrow from your systems points in.
The sources stay the systems of record. enCompass360° reads them where they sit and shows the batch to the people who review it.
- HistorianAVEVA PI, Proficy Historian. Read by enCompass360°, nothing written back.
- SCADA alarms and eventsiFIX and others. Read by enCompass360°, nothing written back.
- Batch databaseSQL Server. Read by enCompass360°, nothing written back.
- Batch and recipe systemsprocess steps, alarm limits. Read by enCompass360°, nothing written back.
- Building managementroom conditions, through an integration set up for your site.
- ReviewersA quality reviewer at a workstation. Maintenance on a tablet on the floor comes with the browser version, in development.
Where it runs.
Deployed on your own network, on the floor or in the office, stand-alone or across the enterprise. The review layer reads every source in place and writes nothing back. Whether that touches the validated state of the historian or the MES is your change-control call; we supply the connection description and the read-only evidence that goes into it.
A quality reviewer sits at a workstation and compares batches side by side. Maintenance on a tablet on the floor comes with the browser version, in development. Today, your regulated data stays on site.
What it connects to, and in which direction.
The direction is known before the deployment conversation starts: the batch review reads. The method for each source depends on how your site stores the data, and goes into the connection description we supply for your change control.
| Source | Examples | Direction |
|---|---|---|
| Process historian | AVEVA PI, Proficy Historian | Read |
| SCADA alarms and events | iFIX and other SCADA | Read |
| Batch database | SQL Server batch databases | Read |
| Batch and recipe systems | Process steps and alarm limits, from the batch, MES and recipe systems | Read |
| Building management | Room conditions for the same window, through an integration set up for your site. | Read |
| Recipe management (separate module) | Central recipe editing with revision history and approval | Writes approved recipes to the process |
Recipe management is a separate module from the batch review. If you deploy it, how approved recipes reach the line is agreed with your controls team, described in writing and taken through your change control.
What gets installed
Today, enCompass360° runs on a virtual machine on your server, and reviewers open it by remote desktop; nothing is installed on their workstations.
Next, a browser version served on your plant network, so any approved user can open the batch from a browser. In development.
Where the data goes
Today, your regulated data stays on site. The batch review reads your sources on your network.
Reports can be emailed automatically where your network allows outbound mail. Whether it does is your call.
Accounts and access
Which accounts it reads with, and who in the plant gets access, are set with your IT team and covered in the deployment conversation.
Updates and support
Support comes from the engineers who built it: no account managers, no hand-off. How updates are delivered and taken through your change control is agreed during deployment.
